Edinburgh Fringe 2025 Course
Incognito Improv are excited to present a series of residential improv courses that we will be running at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2025.
Led by our professionally qualified teachers, who have decades of improvising and training experience between them, these courses are aimed at improvers.
Over the three days, we will equip you with new and improved practical skills; prepare you and build your confidence to perform an improv comedy show on stage; and give you the unique opportunity to actually perform a show to a real live audience at the world’s largest arts festival!
Course Overview and Learning objectives
- Day 1: Core Improv Skills – You will develop your ability to perform spontaneous, unscripted scenes by practicing key improv principles like “Yes, And,” active listening, and embracing mistakes. By the end of Day 1, you will feel more comfortable reacting in the moment and supporting your scene partners
- Day 2: Improv Formats and Scene Structure – You will learn how to structure short-form improv games and scenes, focusing on pacing, character development, and building tension. By the end of Day 2, you will be able to participate in more complex scenes, handling a variety of formats and adjusting to audience feedback.
- Day 3: Prepare for a Group Performance for a Live Show – You will work together with your classmates to rehearse and perform a cohesive, collaborative improv set, emphasizing ensemble work, timing, and reacting to the energy of the crowd. By Day 3, you will be ready to perform an unscripted show with confidence and support each other on stage.
- Evening of Day 3: Showcase Show! – You will perform “People Pleasers” alongside your classmates and Incognito Improv’s main cast, in front of a live Edinburgh Fringe audience.

Refunds are available as follows:
In the case that we sell out for a certain course, we will operate a waiting list. If there is a person on the waiting list who can take your place, or you find a replacement for yourself, we will provide a full refund even within these deadlines. Exchanges to a different group (i.e. different dates) are possible subject to availability. A £25 admin fee will be charged for all exchanges or refunds |
